Guitarist | Singer | Composer
Gianni Gardner is a versatile guitarist, composer and singer based in Hartford, CT. He graduated from Manhattan School of Music with his masters degree in Jazz Arts in 2024. While in New York, he formed his band Ascent, a five piece modern jazz ensemble performing his original compositions. In January 2025, Gianni released his debut studio album, “The Ascent”.
Gianni and his band Ascent have performed at festivals, music series and venues across the East Coast including The Side Door Jazz Club, Jazz At Lincoln Center’s Dizzy’s Club, Birdland, The Django, The Iridium, The Baby Grand Jazz Series, The Greater Hartford Festival of Jazz, The Paul Brown Monday Night Jazz Series, and the Connecticut Guitar Society.
He currently plays alongside many musicians and bands throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York, including John Smatla’s award winning band, UltraBlue, Ed Fast and Conga Bop, Matt Dwonszyk, Sean Nelson Jazz Orchestra, Mass-Conn-Fusion and Meyer Stathem's Certain Treble Entertainment.
After finishing his Master’s Degree in New York, God put a calling on his life to venture back to his home state of Connecticut, where he further developed his relationship with Christ through writing and sharing music about his salvation. Gianni is currently in the process of composing new music for a second album which will be released in the near future.
